| August 22 is Kickoff Sunday! New directories! | |
This Sunday, August 22, is our kickoff for the new church year! We will resume celebrating two worship services at 9:00 and 10:15 a.m., and Church School meets at 10:15 a.m. Sarah Circle is hosting after-worship fellowship, and we'll enjoy slushies after second service, too!
Plus, our picture directories are here, and they're gorgeous! Plan to pick yours up in the Narthex on Sunday. |

● If you don't already, would you like to get your monthly Spire electronically? The format is printable from home computers if you need a hard copy of one or more pages. Contact the Office to switch to an eSpire.
● Visitors who wish to join Rolling Hills can do so on Monday, August 23 (7:15 p.m., Fireside Room). Questions? Contact Pastor Woody Brown.
● Signups for fall/winter practice slots in The Ark will begin on Sunday, September 12. Schedule spots are assigned on a first-come, first-served basis (and are available to members only).
● During September & October, the Presbyterian Women are conducting a coat drive for the JoCo Christmas Bureau. Please hang clean, gently used donations in the alcove across from the Fireside Room. Tax receipts available.
● Church & Society is keeping a database of willing volunteers for the Hope Family Care Center and the Village Food Pantry. Contact Chris Riffer to "get in the system."
● A grief support group meets on Tuesdays at Rolling Hills at 1:30 p.m. This is a community-based group, but RH members and visitors are welcome. Questions? Contact Christy Watson in the Church Office.
● New Landings Job Club ( www.nljc.org) meets in our Fireside Room on Wednesday evenings, 4:00-8:30 p.m. (note new starting time -- sessions will include some coaching). This diverse group of professionals seeks new employment opportunities within the KC metro area. Interesting speakers and good networking opportunities. Over 200 people have found jobs since last summer through this helpful organization. RH members and visitors welcome! |

● Choral music: "Welcome All to Worship" (Choplin), "Let Us Fill the World With Singing" (Hayes); guest organist, Phyllis Curtis
● Communion is served on the first Sunday of the month. Home communion can be requested for those unable to attend church (contact the Church Office to make arrangements).
● To honor an occasion or memorialize a loved one with flowers in the Chancel, contact the Church Office for details and the availability of your Sunday of choice.
● Sunday morning curbside assistance: Watch for these helpers -- they'll also watch for you. To be a helper, contact Dick Stone or call (913) 642-9248.

● Thursday Night Fellowship (TNF) for SRS meets tonight at 7:00 p.m.
● Church School meets at 10:15 a.m. this Sunday, August 22.

● Scripture Play is on "summer break" during the month of August.
● On Sunday, August 22, a group of senior adults will go to Crown Center to see a performance of "1776" the musical. The carpool will leave Rolling Hills at 1:00 p.m.
● The next Spiritual Nurture program will be on August 26 (game night led by Anne Baker), 6:00 p.m. Dessert served. Please sign up in the Church Office before the event. |
